Water. Growth. Life. Refreshment.
Fertilizer. Poop.
Did you know that on average 60% of crop growth is attributed to fertilizer?
Did you know that the direct result of fertilizer is not growth but strength-which then permits an increase in growth?
I recognize that this all seems a bit random but i think if given the option of having water or poop thrown on us most of us are going to consistently choose water. Makes sense. Why would anyone choose to have waste products from large animals dumped on their heads?
I would however, like to throw out there that all water with no fertilizer leads to a weak, broken and quickly dead crop. We like to think that we can handle all water (refreshment; the good life) all of the time. But too much water is not healthy for plants either. They can drown and die in water just as quickly as from drought.
Of the same token too much fertilization can burn a crop. But that is where we must depend on God to not allow us to be dumped on more than we can handle.
Some people, however run from that fertilizer. From the smelly stuff in life and that is not okay on many levels. While fertilizer might be very oppressive at the moment, the long term result is positive. The same is true when we experience the difficulties of life. If you choose to take the nutrients or learn from such events. They may not be pleasant but if we face them head on, we become stronger individuals and grow into something beautiful.
Again, most people think that the primary purpose is fertilizer is growth. To be bigger and have increased quantity. In reality, however, the purpose of fertilizer is to make plants stronger. The secondary result is exponential growth and production.
So we should expect to see sunshine and rain, fertilizer and water. In this if we simply take what we receive-whether god or bed. Find the benefit and give the rest to God. We are more likely to grow into the hearts that we want. We become children after God’s own heart.
