When I took this picture I noticed the LIFE among the BROKEN. Thanksgiving weekend I was hanging out at the railroad tracks with my friend Laurie and I was inspired to find life among the broken and hard appearance of that environment. I saw only one small blade of grass sticking up but that was all that it took. It was a sign of life and hope. I added the stakes from the railroad tracks that had been thrown aside by the intense pressure that they repeatedly endured because I know that life that is found among the broken can only be seen from the eyes of Jesus and through the washing of His blood.
Almost a year ago, I went to Mercy and they helped me to uncover the life among what I saw as pure death and brokeness. But only so much can be done in six months. And only so much can be done with human capacity.
I have only begun a life long process and I appreciate the people God has placed in my life that are such great support and encouragement in this fragile state of growth. Finding life among the broken is only the beginning. That life has to be nurtured, protected and cared for. My friends have done an amazing job at that and God could not have put me in a better place. You have all blessed me so much and I appreciate you more than words can say!
